The Yarra Yarra Golf Club Foundation was established in 1995 by a Settlement from Dr. John W Meagher, former Club President. The founding Trustees, Margaret M Appleton, Richard G Martin, John M Brice, Ian S Leith and John I Taylor, were all Past Club Presidents and Club Captains. The sole beneficiary of the Foundation is The Yarra Yarra Golf Club Limited.
The purpose of setting up the Foundation was to create a Capital Fund. The income from the Fund is to be applied to fund projects ancillary to Club operations, as determined by the Trustees in consultation with the Club General Committee.
Members can donate directly to the Capital Fund of the Foundation. The Foundation is also eligible to receive Tax Deductible Donations from Members via the Australian Sports Foundation for specific Registered Projects.
Two Projects are currently registered under the program –
• YYGC Course and Clubhouse development
• YYGC Junior Golf Development.
Donations received for these Projects can be fully distributed. The Trustee of the Foundation is The Yarra Yarra Foundation Pty Ltd.
