Updated temporary local rules

To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and the Yarra Yarra Golf Club Local Rules as printed on the score card.
- TYRE MARKS
A tyre mark associated with any works area MAY be treated as GUR. These tyre marks may be in any general area. The player may take relief under rule 16.1b.
- BUNKERS MAY BE TREATED WITH A PREFERRED LIE
When a player’s ball lies in a bunker, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in a preferred lie within 1 club length of its original position that is no nearer the hole and within the bunker.
In proceeding under this Local Rule, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rules 14.2b(2) and 14.2e
- FLAGSTICKS MUST REMAIN IN THE HOLE
Any player deliberately removing a flagstick shall be disqualified.
Rules 14.2b(2) and 14.2e.
- SEAMS IN NEWLY LAID TURF
If a player’s ball lies in or touches a seam of cut turf or a seam interferes with the player’s area of intended swing:
(a) Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.
(b) Ball on Putting Green. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1d.
But interference does not exist if the seam only interferes with the player’s stance.
All seams within the area of cut turf are treated as the same seam in taking relief. This means that if a player has interference from any seam after dropping the ball, the player must proceed as required under Rule 14.3c(2) even when the ball is still within one club-length of the reference point.
- AREA LEFT OF 14TH TEE MARKED BY ROPES
When a player’s ball lies in the area left of the 14th tee that has been marked by a ropes they may take free relief once by dropping the original ball or another ball at the nearest point of relief to the west of the rope line that is no nearer the hole under Rule 16.1b.
- PLAYING ACROSS THE CARPARK
If a car park is on a player’s direct line of play to a green, the player must take relief at the nearest point of relief that is no nearer the hole and that the car park is clear of the direct line of play, without penalty.
In playing the 7th hole the direct line of play to be used as a measure is in line with the blue stake on the left of the fairway and the flagstick.
- RULE 1.2B – CODE OF CONDUCT – DELIBERATELY PLAYING DOWN WRONG FAIRWAY
Any player deliberately playing a tee shot down a wrong fairway, such as down the 8th fairway off the 9th tee, will be subject to the General Penalty.
- BLUE DROPPING STAKES, ROPES AND ASSOCIATED STAKES
All blue dropping stakes, ropes and associated stakes are to be treated as immovable obstructions. Relief MAY be taken under rule 16.1a
Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for the breach of a Temporary Local Rule is the General Penalty
