The season has been characterised by close matches which haven’t gone our way. On Friday it was another close one with 2 wins and 2 squared matches and no joy for our other 3 matches. Well done to Meg and Sue on good wins and Thanh and Sonia squaring their matches – all so close. Sunday Womens’ Pennant Round 6
Played at Heidelberg vs Heidelberg

Taking on a team on their home turf is never easy. Throw in freezing conditions, rain and thunder, playing Heidelberg at Heidelberg looked like it could be a challenge. However little did we know that our players love the wet, the cold and hills. Charlotte didn’t have a chance to even warm up as she finished on the 10th. She was one over par after 10. Awesome golf. Janelle was swinging beautifully and had a good win 3/2. Rebecca had a new weapon in her bag and her consistent golf continued. A 7/5 win was well deserved. Mel was on fire and was hitting her irons to perfection. Also 7/5 win. Vanessa came up against a strong opponent but still played some good golf. Lauren saw the others had finished early so decided she had had enough of the cold. Shanaiah wanted to see a little more of the course and finished her match on 17. Well done girls.
A 6/1 win was an awesome effort. The caddies needed caddies there was so much to do – drying of clubs, umbrellas up and down, and protecting players from the rain. You all deserve a special thanks. Much appreciated was support from Di Simmons and Sally Ezerins – all rugged up and ready to cheer us on.
We are looking to close the season with another win playing the final round at home against Southern GC.
