The Veterans’ Cup final was played on Friday 12 August 2022 between Gwen Oliver and Elaine Fitt.

Gwen got off to a flying start and was 3 up before you could blink. Both played steady golf but missing short putts and finding bunkers proved costly at times. Elaine won the 6th and 8th but Gwen hit a cracking shot into the 9th and turned 3 up.

Elaine was not going to give up anytime soon and won the next 3 holes. Her putt from the bottom of the hill on 12 was perfect. It was quite a tussle for the next few holes and as we stood on the 17th tee the match was all square. Elaine found her first bunker of the day which gave Gwen a chance to win the hole which she did.

Gwen and Elaine squared the last hole and the victory was Gwen’s.

Congratulations to both ladies for making the final and well done Gwen, winner of the Veterans’ Cup 2022!
