1. HISTORY
In 1924, H G McRoberts donated a trophy to be known as the Yarra Yarra Cup. H G McRoberts was President of the Club when the decision was made to move from Rosanna to Bentleigh East and continued in this position for a record period of 17 years (from 1915 to 1931). He was president of The Victorian Golf Association until 1937. In 1953 the Committee honoured him by renaming the cup the H G McRoberts Yarra Yarra Cup.
2. EVENT TYPE
- Honour Board and Perpetual Trophy.
3. COMPETITION
- Singles handicap match play event with the leading 8 players to qualify for 18 holes match play as scheduled in the golf program.
- Qualifying round played over 18 holes.
- The competition will be played on the blue course.
4. ELIGIBILITY
- Open to Life, 7 Day, Young and eligible Junior Members.
5. TIES
- In the event of a tie, qualifying places will be determined by the GA countback system.
- In the event that a match is square after 18 holes, play shall continue from Hole 1 in sudden death until a decision is reached. Strokes will be taken again as at the start of the match.
6. ENTRY
- Competitors shall nominate for the event by entering their names on the Time Sheet.
- Any player who cannot be available to play in all the subsequent match play rounds is not eligible to enter the competition to avoid walkovers.
7. PRESENTATIONS
- Presentation of the H.G. McRoberts Cup will be made on Championship Day. Following the Final, the club will provide hospitality for the competitors, caddies and the referee.
