Temporary Local Rules
To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and the Yarra Yarra Golf Club Local Rules as printed on the score card and on the MiScore App.
1. TYRE MARKS
A tyre mark associated with any works area MAY be treated as GUR. These tyre marks may be in any general area. The player may take relief under rule 16.1b.
2. VEGETATION AND RESTORATION WORKS BETWEEN 17 TEE, AND 18 FAIRWAY
When a player’s ball lies in the areas marked for vegetation renewal or restoration work between the 17th Tee and 18th Fairway, they must take relief without penalty by dropping the original ball or another ball at the nearest point of relief that is no nearer the hole or at the nearest dropping stake.
The dropping zones/stakes may be closer to the hole under this TLR.
3. NEWLY LAID TURF – GUR – HOLES 1 AND 17
When a player’s ball lies on newly laid turf on holes 1 they must take relief without penalty by dropping the original ball or another ball at the nearest point of relief that is no nearer the hole or at the nearest dropping stake.
The dropping zones/stakes may be closer to the hole under this TLR.
When a player’s ball lies on newly laid turf on holes 17 they must take relief without penalty by dropping the original ball or another ball at the nearest point of relief that is no nearer the hole and on the fairway side of the new turf.
4. PRACTICE FAIRWAY – OUT OF BOUNDS
Any ball coming to rest on the practice fairway beyond the white stakes with black tops is out of bounds, with golfers to proceed under rule 18.2b – stroke and distance.
If a ball is out of bounds, the player must take stroke-and-distance relief by adding one penalty stroke and playing the original ball or another ball from where the previous stroke was made (see Rule 14.6).
5. PLAYING ACROSS THE CARPARK
If a car park is on a player’s direct line of play to a green, the player must take relief at the nearest point of relief that is no nearer the hole and that the car park is clear of the direct line of play, without penalty.
In playing the 7th hole the direct line of play to be used as a measure is in line with the blue stake on the left of the fairway and the flagstick.
6. RULE 1.2B – CODE OF CONDUCT – DELIBERATELY PLAYING DOWN WRONG FAIRWAY
Any player deliberately playing a tee shot down a wrong fairway, such as down the 8th fairway off the 9th tee, will be subject to the General Penalty.
7. ROPES, CHAINS, ASSOCIATED STAKES AND BLUE DROPPING STAKES – IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
All ropes, chains, wooden barriers, associated stakes and blue dropping stakes are to be treated as immovable obstructions. Relief without penalty MAY be taken under rule 16.1a when your ball touches the immovable obstruction, or the immovable obstruction interferes with the area of the players intended swing or stance.
Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for the breach of a Temporary Local Rule is the General Penalty
